REFLECT 2017: A Collaborative Research Institute in Suicide Prevention

The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, in collaboration with the University of Ottawa, is pleased to announce REFLECT 2017 (REsearch inFormed by Lived Experience): A Collaborative Research Institute in Suicide Prevention, which will take place at the Innovation Centre Ottawa from October 1, 2017 – October 3, 2017.
REFLECT 2017: Collaborative Research Institute in Suicide Prevention is a three-day event that will provide people with lived experience, researchers, clinicians, trainees and policy makes with a chance to learn more about patient-oriented research in suicide prevention.
REFLECT 2017 is a unique training session that aims to bring together people with lived experience and researchers in suicide and self-harm. It is open to people with lived experience of suicide and self-harm and researchers working in the field of suicide and self-harm research. It will provide a space for support, networking, and collaboration among people with lived experience, Master's, PhD, and Post-doctoral research students as well as more established researchers.
At this event, you will have an opportunity to:
- Connect with clients with lived experience, researchers, clinicians, trainees and policy makers in the field of suicide prevention research;
- Attending training lectures, workshops and seminars about patient-oriented suicide prevention research;
- Attend mentoring sessions with other researchers, clinicians, trainees and policy makers interested in patient-oriented suicide prevention research;
- Contribute to the development research priorities in the field of suicide prevention;
- Help to create shared knowledge in patient-oriented suicide prevention research.
